Privacy
dailygolf is a daily golf game at dailygolf.fun. This page lists what the game records about you and why.
What we record
- A random player ID, created on your first visit and kept in your browser's storage. It isn't linked to your name, your email or your IP address. dailygolf itself sets no cookies; the ads described below do.
- Your country, which Cloudflare (our host) works out from your IP address. We don't store IP addresses. To stop leaderboard spam we keep a scrambled code made from yours with a random key that is deleted after two days, so it can't be traced back to your address.
- Your browser and device type: for example "Safari on iOS", your screen size and language, and the page or campaign that linked you here.
- How you play: when you visit, the shots and scores of your rounds, and actions such as sharing a result, starting an Unlimited course or changing settings.
- Unlimited, if you buy it or are given it: that your player ID has it, when it was unlocked, and Stripe's ID for the payment.
- Games with friends: the name you type and your scores in that game, which everyone in the game sees.
- Error reports when something in the game breaks.
Why
- To run the daily course and its leaderboard, which keeps one score per player per day.
- To stop cheating and abuse.
- To see how people play so the game can get better.
- To unlock Unlimited for the people who buy it.
Who else sees it
The data is stored in a database hosted by Cloudflare. We don't sell it or share it with advertisers. The site also loads its fonts from Google Fonts and code from cdnjs, and those services see your IP address when they send those files.
Payments for Unlimited are handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your email address and card details to take the payment and send your receipt; dailygolf never sees your card and doesn't keep your email. We give Stripe your player ID so the payment unlocks the right browser.
Ads
dailygolf's information pages (such as How to play, the strategy guide, the FAQ and About) show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show you ads based on your visits to this site and other sites, and they see your IP address and browser details when your browser loads those ads. dailygolf doesn't pass Google your player ID or how you play. Players with Unlimited don't get ads.
- To turn off personalized ads from Google, go to Google's Ads Settings.
- To turn off personalized ads from other ad companies, go to aboutads.info.
- Google explains what it does with this data in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
How long we keep it
We keep it while dailygolf is running, unless you ask us to delete it. A game with friends, with the names and scores in it, is deleted an hour after the last player leaves.
Your choices
Clearing this site's data in your browser starts you over with a new player ID. To get a copy of your data or have it deleted, email privacy@dailygolf.fun with your player ID:
